Ingredients

  • lean ground beef - 1 lb. (500g)
  • salt - 1-1 ½ tsp.
  • onion - 1 (diced)
  • celery sticks - 2 (chopped)
  • medium carrots - 2 (peeled
  • chopped) -
  • chopped tomatoes (canned) - 2-2 ⅔ cups (800g)
  • green cabbage - ½ (chopped)
  • beef stock - 4 cups (1 liter)
  • bay leaves - 2

Preparation Instructions

  • 1. Heat a large pot on medium and stir-fry the beef until browned, around 5-7 minutes. Season with salt.
  • 2. Next add the onion, celery, and carrots and sauté for another 5 minutes.
  • 3. Add the chopped tomatoes, cabbage, beef stock and bay leaves, cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes, until vegetables are soft.
  • 4. Remove bay leaves before serving.
